Former Cop to Rachel Maddow: Legalizing Pot is a “Win-Win” | Alternet

Former Cop to Rachel Maddow: Legalizing Pot is a “Win-Win” | Alternet.

It’s truly amazing to me the hullaballoo that goes into this insane drug war.  Haven’t people studied Prohibition?  Do they not realize that it is not only doomed to failure, but creates horrendous crime?  And what is with this zeal to stop a person from ingesting something that makes them happy, healthy, free of pain, sleeping better, etc, etc, etc?  Law enforcement does not make a distinction between drug USE and ABuse, with the exception of alcohol.
Police’s job should be solely to protect people and property, NOT to meddle in people’s tastes, habits, or conseting-adult activities.  Period.  Drugs– ESPECIALLY marijuana– should be treated as echinacea or valerian root.  It’s what people DO with, because of, or to acquire their drugs that matters.  It should be of NO ONE’s business if someone chooses to ingest something in their home.  What matters is how people behave toward others as a result.  If they assault someone, DUI, or commit robbery as a result of what they ingest, assault, DUI, and robbery are ALREADY against the law– why penalize those that cause no problems??????  It’s absurd!  And, in the case of marijuana, legalization WILL lead to numerous pharmacopia to the benefit of ALL of society, it’s cancer-fighting properties notwithstanding.

Imagine the audacity to tell you that you cannot ingest something that may cure you of a terminal illness!  That is unconscionable in itself, not to mention in direct defiance of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.  It is time for these absurdities to end.  EVERYONE should do their part in educating others about the scientific facts regarding marijuana, and end the lies and myths that stem back from Reefer Madness.

About Auntie BS

I am a proponent of ending prohibition and control of inanimate objects. History has shown that this is ineffective and a HUGE waste of resources. Judge people on what they DO, not what they own, ingest, talk about, or think. I abhor dishonesty and corruption and this will dominate my blogs.
